Québec’s research and innovation ecosystem is made up of a variety of actors with complementary roles who interact and collaborate with each other and across international borders. Whether they are producers of knowledge, generators of innovation, agents for knowledge mobilization or technology transfer, funding agencies, research users or citizens, all have a part to play in Québec’s burgeoning knowledge society.
The diagram below outlines the distribution of Québec’s research and innovation actors according to their primary mission. Civil society, through its organizations and the knowledge of its citizens, contributes to the production of knowledge by research partnerships with the community and is an agent of knowledge mobilization.
