What are the benefits of research for Québec society? How is scientific production faring? How does Québec compare with other provinces and countries in terms of research?
To answer these questions, in 2013, the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) commissioned the Observatoire des sciences et des technologies to compile a set of indicators to track recent trends in the Quebec situation and compare it with other Canadian provinces and OECD countries.
These indicators were updated in November 2021, based on the most recent data currently available. It presents a set of indicators covering natural sciences and engineering, health sciences, social sciences and humanities, arts and letters.
