CRISPR-Cas9: A potential treatment for hereditary diseases

The CRISPR-Cas9 technology holds great promise for improving plant and animal production, or even to cure hereditary diseases. Jacques P. Tremblay, professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at Université Laval and researcher at the Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec, presents the first results of his research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Friedreich’s ataxia.
