Launch of a new tool to raise awareness of responsible research

Montréal, November 1, 2018 – Québec's Chief Scientist and the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) are pleased to launch a new tool for members of the research community to raise awareness of the responsible conduct of research. The tool aims to foster awareness of best practices for the responsible conduct of research among students and researchers through activities focused on decision making in real research contexts.

The tool complements other training initiatives and may be used to facilitate reflection and discussion as part of courses and between research team members. The tool is easily adaptable to different research contexts and flexible enough to be used as part of units or activities. Once completed, it will be made up of three independent modules on various themes. The first module, which launches today, looks at the responsible dissemination of research results. An English version of the tool will be released by the end of the year, and certificates of completion for each module will be available soon.
