Call for Projects : AUDACE Program

Québec, July 19, 2018 – Québec’s Chief Scientist and the Directorate of Societal Challenges and Intersectoral Networks are pleased to announce the launch of a new call for projects under the AUDACE program. In view of the success of the 2017 pilot program, AUDACE is now among the annual programs led by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) and overseen by the Directorate of Societal Challenges and Intersectoral Networks.

The AUDACE program is aimed at teams made up of researchers in at least two of the three sectors covered by the FRQ (Nature et technologies, Santé, Société et culture). Each project may be granted up to $100 000 for a one-period to cover expenses incurred over two fiscal years.

Applicants should note that changes were made to the 2018 AUDACE program. Principal investigators must now submit a letter of intent that will be reviewed by a peer committee. After the relevancy review, only the principal investigators whose projects received a recommendation to the international scientific committee will be invited to file a full application. Following the assessment of the full applications, the international committee will meet with the teams whose projects are the most promising.

The program rules are available on the websites of the FRQ. Applicants may access the online application form by going to their e-portfolio and selecting the FRQSC as the managing fund.

Launch of the call for projects: July 19, 2018.

Further details are available in the call for projects (in French; English version coming soon).

The online application form is available as of July 19, 2018 in FRQnet (e-portfolio /FRQSC). A sample request is available in the program toolbox.

Deadline to submit a letter of intent : September 19, 2018.

By invitation from the FRQ (November 12), the teams that are shortlisted following the relevancy review have until December 12, 2018, to submit a full application.

The notice of decision will be issued in April 2019.
