Our Mission
The mission of the COPL has three components:
- Train students and highly qualified personnel
- Perform basic and applied research
- Contribute to socio-economic growth in the field of optics-photonics
Bringing together some fifty researchers and more than 450 graduate students, spread over 8 universities in Quebec, the COPL acts as a facilitator and accelerator of innovation. Its members multiply collaborations at the frontiers of multidisciplinarity in order to constantly push back the limits of science.
Through its privileged position, the COPL maintains close ties with industry, particularly through the work of industrial chairs and Canada Excellence Research Chairs. In addition, he is involved with hospitals because of his research focus in biophotonics. Finally, its members are behind an impressive number of research-based company creations.
