THE FRQ and the government of Maharashtra announce a memorandum of understanding

At the Conference of Montréal, Rémi Quirion, Québec's chief scientist, and S.V.R Srinivas, principal secretary IT and chairman of the government of Maharashtra, India, signed a memorandum of understanding to support research collaborations for sustainable agriculture development. The document was signed before a delegation from the state of Maharashtra, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The partners will assemble a working group made up of researchers from Québec and the state of Maharashtra who will consider advanced methods to increase crop productivity in their respective regions. More specifically, the research will aim to eradicate a number of crop diseases using drones and other artificial intelligence technologies, as well as evaluate soil health and crop seeding IT modelling techniques.
