Call for proposals - DIALOGUE: A new program to support science communication to the public

Chief Scientist Rémi Quirion is pleased to announce that the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) are launching the new twofold DIALOGUE program to support science communication to the public. DIALOGUE – Volet Chercheurs et chercheuses and DIALOGUE – Volet Relève étudiante aim to recognize and support researchers and student researchers who seek to engage in scientific communication with the public.

Through the pilot program, the FRQ are encouraging the scientific community to interact with the public by discussing its work, findings and scientific processes to spark interest and foster a better understanding of science. The program is directly in line with the strategic directions of the FRQ.

Under the program, beginning in March 2020:

  • DIALOGUE – Volet Chercheurs et chercheuses: six researchers (two in each of the Fonds' three sectors) will be selected to receive up to $40 000 in funding for a period of up to 18 months.
Deadline (notice or letter of intent): September 9, 2019, 4:30 pm
  • DIALOGUE – Volet Relève étudiante: twelve students (four in each of the Fonds' three sectors) will be selected to receive $5 000 in funding for a period of up to one year.
    Deadline (application): December 2, 2019, 4:30 pm
